Borderland post punk band, The Slashes, takes you back to the 70s London post punk era mixed with some 80s new romantic wave. Band members include Esteban Rene (vocals/guitar), Beto Bautista (bass), and Carlos Robles (drums). They released their

self titled debut album in 2015 and have played shows around Southern California at notable venues like The Observatory in

Santa Ana, the legendary Rainbow Bar in LA, and The Casbah in San Diego. In 2018, they released their singles “Heavy Bowie” and “City By”, growing their fanbase in New York City, playing shows in the Lower East Side and Brooklyn. In 2019, they

recorded and released their newest single “Rain Ballet”, their love letter to New York.

After a year of playing shows and working on new music, they began recording their second album, Embalmers Blush. The album was released in February 2021, along with the release of their music video for "Heavy Bowie". Although the band was not able to play any shows due to the pandemic, they continued to work on new music. Moving in a slightly different direction, they experimented, got new inspiration, and released 3 new singles in 2022.
